Uniforms

Overview: 

Throughout WWII, the OSS changed the uniforms its operatives used, as the US Army also changed the uniforms the average GI wore. The ETO and CBI certainly differed, and even among the various teams there were variations in what individuals chose to wear. I have read in multiple books that even individual men changed the types of uniforms they wore as the set they had infiltrated in were shredded and additional sets were delivered in drop canisters. 

We will examine the following groups here:

• The trainees at locations across the US and UK

• The Jedburgh Teams

• The Operational Groups (OG's)

• Special Allied Airborne Reconnaissance Force (SAARF)

• Local Civilian Clothes

• Detachment 101 (Burma)

• Detachment 202 (China)

• Detachment 404 (S.E. Asia)

• Maritime Unit

• The OSS Staff around the world in various headquarters

• Dress Uniforms

• Short Synopsis of the patches and insignia of the OSS
